Race Circuit Italia on Thursday evening - 4/12/2025
This event incorporates the Presidents A Grade Christmas Gift – Envelop prizes
We express our sincere gratitude to the owner and general manager, Damien White of Circuit Italia for giving the Newcastle Hunter Cycling club the opportunity of conducting a trial competitive cycling event at the new Circuit Italia
3km of pristine tarmac, A road 12m wide including fast down hills, a challenging long uphill drag, a short pinch and sweeping corners.
As part of our agreement we must abide by the letter of the conditions set out below. Please take your time reading these conditions. Ignorance is no defence. I ask everyone to be on their best behaviour.
A designated NHCC volunteer will be in charge of the Boom gate. Entry to the site is at the discretion of this club official. If said official is not at the gate you have no right of entry. It is strict condition of our agreement with Circuit Italia that no one attempts to go under, through or around the boom gate if it is not being attended by our club boom gate official. Violation of this condition will have significant ramifications for our ability to conduct cycling events at this unique site in the future. I encourage everyone to arrive on time and leave at the same time.
It is a strict condition that the site is vacant of everyone and everything by 7.30 pm. This is a no spectator event. There is a designed zone for parking and support people such as the officials and parents/guardians of juniors. These people must remain in this area during our time on site.
For the duration of the event any instruction provided by Damien (he will be in a Circuit Italia branded shirt) must be followed, even if in conflict of an instruction provided by NHCC.
A porta loo will be provided. I strongly suggest people lighten their loads before they arrive at the venue.
If you are riding to the event please arrive on time. If you arrive late and the gate is closed you have no right of entry. Please make sure you have lights on your bike for your return journey.
I know it is on a Thursday, but you have time to make arrangements with your families and workplaces.
Gates open at 17.00 hours
17:30 hours: Race briefing
17.35 hours: All in one lap Christmas Neutral lap
All grade reassembles at the start line with A grade starting first
A grade -50 minutes
B grade – 45 minutes
C grade – 40 minutes
D grade – 30 minutes
Juniors and E grade – 25 minutes.
If we have time there will be presentations.
Everyone and everything out by 19:30 hours.
Please note – absolutely no access to the circuit on foot is permitted. The circuit runs in a clockwise direction; there is to be no riding in an anti-clockwise direction on the circuit. Entry to the circuit is via the northern end of the pit wall (a 200m, 1.3m high concrete wall). After exiting the left hand hairpin turn near the end of the lap you will note a lane marked with white paint on your left; this is the pit entry.. At the end of each grades allocated time the bunch will compete a warm down lap and exit the circuit using the pit entry.
There is plenty of room for grades to pass one another – faster grades please call out and pass on the right. Slower grades please keep to the left of the course.
