2 Event Details
2.1 Event Description
Welcome to the inaugural Fraser Coast Junior Tour, proudly hosted by the Fraser Coast Cycling Club. This technical guide is designed to ensure that all participants, coaches, and supporters have the information needed to navigate the event smoothly. Whether you’re competing for the first time or are a seasoned campaigner, we are thrilled to have you with us and look forward to an exhilarating weekend of racing. The Fraser Coast Junior Tour is a bronze event and therefore will be conducted under the guidance of the AusCycling Technical Regulations.
2.2 Event Location Event Address
End of Astro Drive Urangan. Take John Duigan Drive off Southern Cross Circuit and continue to the gate. There will be a FCCC representative there to guide you to the parking area.
2.3 Event Start and Finish Times
Competition will begin at 1pm on Friday 20th September. Registration for all competitions will be open from 12pm on Friday. Please collect your numbers for the event from rego desk.

3 Rider Registration and Meetings
3.1 Rider Registration
All competitors must sign on prior to Stage 1. Available from 60 minutes prior to the start of the stage and close 15 minutes prior to the start. Roll-out will be checked prior to Stage 1 Prologue and Stage 3 Criterium at the commissaires discretion. Numbers must be collected at sign on prior to the first event. Each competitor will retain their numbers for the entirety of the event. Number can be returned to sign on at the completion racing on Saturday.

4 Competitor Information

In the event of event of tour cancellation due inclement weather or other significant circumstances listed below, families will be refunded 20% of their entry fee (if requested)
4.3 Presentations
Presentations will be conducted as per the event schedule. All place getters must present to the podium. Riders must be presented in their correct attire (race kit) with no hats or sunglasses.
4.4 General Classification.
Fraser Coast Junior tour is a points-based event. The General Classification (GC) ranks riders based on their cumulative points tally. The overall winner of the Fraser Coast Junior Tour will be the rider who has the lowest accumulative points.

In the event of riders finishing on the same points, a sprint off between the two riders will be conducted. This will be part of the sprint round after the criterium race on Saturday morning. The winner of the sprint will be awarded the higher placing.
If a rider doesn’t finish a stage, they will be awarded the maximum points of the number of competitors in their age group and they may compete in the next stage.
4.5 Individual Time
Trials All riders must present themselves and their equipment to the bike check area, located at the time trial start area, at least 15 minutes prior to their allotted start time. Bicycle and equipment checks will take place at the discretion of the chief commissaire on the day of the event. At the start, 30 second time gaps shall apply for all riders. In the case of a competitor starting before their signal, a ten second penalty shall be applied to that competitor’s time. A late starter may not commence from a flying start and cannot start within 10 seconds of another competitor. The late starter’s time commences from his/her original start signal. Riders are responsible to know the course direction. Riders are required to keep right at all times. Riders must use caution.
4.6 Criterium
When a recognized mishap occurs during the race (crash or mechanical), the riders involved shall be allowed a free lap on which to resume their position in the race, at the moment of the mishap. Riders who have been allowed free laps shall not be penalized in the final classification. A rider who is ineligible for a free lap is responsible to make up any lost ground. The penalty for fraudulent use of the free lap rule may include disqualification or suspension. No free laps shall be permitted in the last four laps.
4.7 Road Race
The road race will be in the reverse direction of the Time Trial. This is a closed road circuit. No laps out will be given for mechanicals.
4.8 Race Numbers
Riders will be issued two body numbers. For time trials, riders may use only one body number, centre bottom of their back. Numbers must not be cut, folded or modified in any way. It is essential that all riders pin their numbers on properly so that they can be identified on the finish line. Riders may be penalized for incorrect number placement. Numbers are to be returned to the registration desk at the finish of the last race.
4.9 First Aid/Medical Services
Two first aid officers will be in attendance. Contact details are on the first page of this guide. They will be designated by a red arm band.

There will be 2 special stages. These will not accumulate points towards General Classification.

The Slalom course will be raced 3 riders at a time with the winner advancing to the next round. Rounds will be determined once registration is finalised

5.3 Food vendors
A coffee vendor has been booked to be onsite during racing on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Drinks & snack food items will be available.
FCCC will be running a Sausage sizzle to help raise funds for future Junior racing. Some light snacks may be available. There is a service station and supermarket within 5 minutes’ drive from the area. See map below.
5.4 Water
Water is available to purchase in bottles or free refills in your own bottle from the rego desk.
5.5 Parking
Please follow directions from the volunteers. There is ample parking room and surfaces to set up trainers and rollers. It is advised to bring shade and some weights may be available to secure gazebos and tents.
5.6 Toilets
There will be portable toilets on site for competitors and supporters to use.
