Southern Cross Club Road Race Championships.

OPEN TO SOUTHERN CROSS MEMBERS ONLY

Entries also available on the day.

Riders are to enter the grade they usually race in at club events, however these may be adjusted by the Club Handicapper or commissaires at their discretion.

  • C and D Grade will start at 8AM. This will include U15 riders (U15's please enter in C Grade).
  • Junior races (U13's and under) will follow at approx. 8:40AM.
  • A and B Grade will follow at approx. 9:15AM (including U17's). U17's please enter in A or B Grade.

Depending on numbers, grades/jnr age groups may start together or separately, however they will be racing for separate trophies awarded to each grade and age group (male and female).

Jnrs who are transitioning off jnr gearing this year please contact Brian or Luke to make sure you are all on the same gearing to keep things fair.

 

Disclaimer

- This event is held entirely around a closed criterium bike track that is booked by Southern Cross Cycling Club (SXCC) through Sutherland Shire Council.

- The bike track is within Waratah Park Reserve and therefore the public do have access to surrounding public ovals.

- Rubbish must not be discarded and gel wrappers etc must be properly disposed of.

- Participants must hold a current 2020 RACE Cycling Australia Licence and present it prior to the race if requested. Triathlon Australia and Mountain Bike Australia are not recognised RACE licences. Participants must wear an ASA compliant helmet.

- The event is held in accordance with Cycling Australia/Cycling NSW Rules & Regulations. Participants must adhere to rules and directions of Commissaries. Decisions on grading are at the discretion of the SXCC handicapper and their decision is final. 

- It is the responsibility of all riders to ensure they are not on the Medical Suspension list, or suspended from racing for any other reason. 

- All riders entering a sanctioned Cycling NSW event acknowledge that they engage in that event at their own risk and that cycling and cycle racing can be considered a dangerous sport which can result in injury out of an act or omission of the rider, other riders, spectators and other obstacle, and track conditions. Whilst all reasonable care is taken by organisers and officials when organising the event; all participating cyclists have an equal responsibility to ensure they take all reasonable care in adhering to the rules and other conditions imposed by officials ensuring a safe race environment for all concerned.

Some guidelines to ensure we comply with our COVID Safety Plan requirements include the following but are not limited to:
- All physical contact will be minimised with social distancing of 1.5 meters required.
- Riders must stay at home if they are unwell or have had flu like symptoms within the last 14 days.
- It is recommended that all riders download the COVID Safe App.
- No personal effects or clothing should be left at the desk.
- Hand sanitiser will be provided at multiple locations.
- a “Get in, Race, Get Out” approach where riders arrive only to attend the event and leave immediately afterwards. Riders are not to linger.
- Riders should arrive in their racing kit, with their bicycle and equipment ready for racing.
- Riders should bring their own food, water and tools to avoid sharing of items between individuals.
- If you have been overseas in the past 14 days please give racing a miss.
- We recommend competitors and spectators download the COVIDSafe App.
