The Hurt Box 70 is a challenging combination of rolling hills and long, leg burning climbs around West Head and Akuna Bay. Starting and finishing at McCarrs Creek Reserve, the ride covers 72km and 1450m of climbing. It is an individual challenge, not a race. Entry includes a post ride BBQ.

There is parking and toilet facilities at the start/finish.
Riders will start in waves and will be paced from the start up to the right hand turn onto West Head Rd. Please take care on all descents, especially the descent to West Head lookout. Descend within your capabilities at all times. You are expected to be self sufficient for the ride, including food and spares. Drinking water is available at the start/finish and on the course at the Marina car park, just near the little bridge. Toilets are located at the start/finish and the picnic grounds toward the end of West Head Rd and also at the Marina.
Participants must hold a current 2020 RACE or RIDE Cycling Australia Licence and present it prior to the race. Participants must wear an ASA compliant helmet.
Refunds will be made if the event is cancelled due to weather, fire, or other safety reasons. Refunds will not be made where an entrant is a no-show.
All riders entering the event acknowledge that they engage in the event at their own risk and that cycling and cycle racing can be considered a dangerous sport which can result in injury out of an act or omission of the rider, other riders, other vehicles, spectators and other obstacles and road conditions. Whilst all reasonable care is taken by organisers and officials when organising the event; all participating cyclists have an equal responsibility to ensure they take all reasonable care in adhering to the rules and other conditions imposed by Police and or officials ensuring a safe environment for all concerned. All roads are open to traffic, including other cyclists. Normal road rules apply and you must give way to all traffic as required.
